Upstream Visual works is about embracing your inner wild child, your genuine authentic self, art, designs and brand. We’re about having the courage to make a difference even if it means swimming upstream. We love collaborating with designers, artists, musicians, authors and businesses of like mind to create ripples of hope and positivity in the world. No ripple is too small.
Upstream Visual Works is privately owned by Stephanie Richard (Anie), who started Upstream Visual Works to create encouraging media, engage with artistic businesses and individuals of like-mind to make a positive difference in our world. Although based in Rhode Island, Stephanie and her right-hand photographer & husband, Ben, travel New England and beyond serving their clients.
Our Story
I met my husband in a film analyzing class held at Providence College. We connected over our passion for film, photography, and 'The Office' and became fast friends. Some photography dates later, we fell in-love, got married in 2019, welcomed our precious daughter, Lily, in 2023... and the rest is history.
Besides being a wonderful husband and my best friend, Ben is my other half on productions and photo sessions. Our communication and team fluidity came rather effortlessly. The two biggest things that you need on any set is a 'can-do' attitude and an organized mind - and some muscle doesn't hurt! I'm blessed to have such a production assistant that has all those qualities and more.
We love to laugh and set our talent and team at ease, while simultaneously working diligently to assure everything goes smoothly.
Over five years in business, and we could not be more spoiled by our amazing talented clients. As a photographer, filmmaker, and artist, nothing brings me greater joy than when my client trusts my lead, allowing me to bring their idea to vision, and then seeing them rejoice in the final product. We have truly loved working for every single one of our clients and look forward to serving new ones.
